I’ve been realizing more and more that what you consume has a significant impact on your well being. When we think of consumption, our minds typically go straight to food/diet not wellness products. But what we consume involves much more than just what we eat. It’s what and who we listen too, what we watch, what we put on our bodies, who we surround ourselves with, etc. Finding natural alternative products has greatly improved my health. Additionally, a lot of our mood and attitude is determined by how well we take care of ourselves.

There’s no perfect formula to always get your wellness routine right. However with a couple of small gradual changes and patience with yourself, you can make a big impact on your well being over time. With increasing evidence that certain ingredients in the beauty industry are linked to health complications, customers are demanding better, more natural options. If you’re interested in limiting the number of chemicals you put in and on your body, give these wellness products a try!  I’d love to hear what you think of them.

1. Crystal Deodorant Stone

For those of you who don’t know, the aluminum ingredient in common deodorants and antiperspirants can be harmful. Aluminum is the only ingredient approved by the FDA to keep us from sweating and smelling all day. However, there are studies that suggest that the aluminum found in most popular deodorants can cause Alzheimer’s disease or cancer, specifically breast cancer.

The crystal deodorant stone has been around for over 30 years. It’s made of natural mineral salts; this paraben- and chemical-free deodorant forms an invisible layer of scentless protection to create an “unfriendly environment” for odor-causing bacteria. All you have to do is apply it to clean wet armpits and you will not smell for 24 hours. It’s actually magical!! The first time I used it I was amazed at how I did not smell like anything at all, after a full day of use. I even tested it out after a workout and it maintained. I refreshingly smelled like nothing. My only caveat would be that since it is not an antiperspirant, it does not stop you from sweating. FYI Angela Yee and Ashley Graham also swear by this deodorant.

I’m so grateful to have meant Diane, the creator of Made With Love Oils; she introduced me to this wonderful wellness product. You can purchase the crystal deodorant I use on her site.  Use code “sadefire” for 20% off. Also, check out her Instagram.

2. HUM Vitamins

I heard about HUM vitamins through the BossBabe podcast and they’ve been transformative supplements for me. I broke up with GNC and subscribed to HUM.

At HUM, they value using clinically proven ingredients, which are clean, natural and triple-tested for potency and purity. There supplements are gluten free, sustainably sourced and do not include artificial colors or preservatives. To get the correct results you want, they provide personalized solutions and free nutrition advice by certified RDs. When you log on, you take a quiz and get paired up with a RD. My RD picked out some great products for me.

They have various options. My favorites are the Beauty ZZZ, Red Carpet and Base Control. Beauty ZZZ contains melatonin and B6. Taking this vitamin has helped me get a deep sleep without tossing and turning throughout the night, helping me feel more rested in the morning. Red carpet contains black currant seed oil, gamma linoleic acid and vitamin E. It helps you attain glowing skin and shiny hair.

Base control includes 22 key health nutrients that are critical for good looks and health. This is basically a daily multi-vitamin. When you buy three supplements at a time, you save 25%. Also, if you use discount code “1CB7FB” you’ll receive $10 off.

3. Damiana Tea & Sea Moss

My friend Christine has introduced me to various natural herbs. Her natural herbs and sea moss have proven to be life changing. Her brand Celf Creations is all about believing in yourself, nourishing your body to life and as well showering yourself with love.

I personally love her damiana tea and sea moss. Damiana tea is great for helping to relieve anxiety, stress, balance hormones as well as fertility. The famous Dr. Sebi made sea moss popular. Sea moss is one of the healthiest sea greens that exist, known to include the 92 of the 102 minerals our body is made up of.  It acts as natural antimicrobial and antiviral agents, helping to get rid of infections.
