Many people are missing the gym right now! I know I am. If you’re like me, you may be nervous about losing your gains during this time. Don’t be worried. You can crush your home workouts by creating your own home gym—even if you live in a tiny apartment! All you need is a clear space and some small, essential pieces of home gym equipment. If you have no idea where to start, there are countless YouTube videos and apps that you can follow along with.

Below are 6 different fitness equipment that will level up your home workouts whether you’re a seasoned gym-goer or a beginner. I highly recommend you invest in this equipment to improve your home workouts.

Kettlebells are great for burning fat. They aid in improving your overall strength, core power, flexibility, and coordination while sculpting lean muscle.

Resistance bands are one of my favorite fitness equipment because they greatly activate your glutes. Bands have transformed my butt and thighs in a matter of weeks! If you’re looking to tone and lift your butt, resistance bands will help. Bonus, here’s a link with some of my favorite band workouts.

You can always workout on your floor but it won’t protect your body like a mat will. The padding of a mat is comfortable and protects your knees, elbows, and tailbone during floor work. Also, a mat will keep your floor/carpet clean.

If you have the space, I highly recommend a jump rope for a full-body cardio workout. I live in a one bedroom apartment and I have found the space to jump rope. Jump roping improves your coordination, burns so many calories, improves bone density, and increases your heart and lung health. Ten minutes of jumping rope is equivalent to about 30 minutes of jogging. Plus jump roping is fun, it reminds me of my childhood.

One of the most difficult aspects of working out at home is the lack of weights at your disposal. While body weight workouts are very effective, if you prefer to use some dumbbells, invest in some. Weights intensify your workout and improve your stabilization, strength and muscle activation.

If you struggle with aches and pains, I feel you! A foam roller and an amazing stretch will help. Foam rollers help relieve muscle tightness, soreness, and inflammation, and it increases your range of motion. Foam rollers are fantastic for a warm up before a workout or a cool down after your workout.
